Riyadh – Mubasher: MBC Group, a leading media conglomerate in the MENA region, has announced the resignation of Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al Ruwaita from his position as a non-executive board member, according to a bourse filing.
The director will also step down from his roles within all sub-committees associated with the board.
The resignation is expected to provide a significant transition period for the company’s governance structure.
Al Ruwaita submitted his resignation with an effective date of 16 June 2026. The company noted that the resignation was formally tendered on the same date.
The primary reason cited for this departure is Al Ruwaita’s other professional commitments, which will prevent him from continuing his duties with the group beyond the specified date. He has been an active member of the MBC Group Board of Directors since 19 April 2023.
Throughout his tenure, Al Ruwaita has served as a non-executive director with his responsibilities focusing on providing independent oversight, contributing to strategic planning, and participating in the board’s collective decision-making processes without being involved in the day-to-day operational management of the media group.
His role extended to various sub-committees, which are essential for the group’s internal governance, audit, and strategic alignment.
