10 Egyptian soldiers killed in Sinai bomb attacks – Reuters

Cairo – Mubasher: Around 10 Egyptian soldiers were killed in two suicide attacks on army checkpoints on Friday in the northern part of Sinai, Reuters reported citing security sources.

Two vehicles exploded, while passing through checkpoints on a road outside the border city of Rafah, the sources told the news agency.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks, which included the death of a colonel, while several soldiers were injured.

Egypt has been suffering from attacks by terrorist groups led by Islamic State in the thinly-populated areas of northern Sinai.
