Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The number of hotel rooms under construction in the UAE reached 32,604 in 116 hotel projects by the end of May 2017, according to a statement by STR.
The UAE accounted for 20.41% of the total rooms under construction in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), which reached 159,700 in 581 hotel projects, a report stated.
The number of hotels under construction in Saudi Arabia reached 95, comprising 40,000 rooms.
Egypt has 4,775 hotel rooms under construction in 14 projects.
The number of hotel rooms under contract in MEA rose 3.8% year-on-year by the end of May 2017.
