13 UAE insurers report AED 21.80bn in written premiums Q4

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: A total of 26 UAE Insurers generated profits in 2017, according to a report released by A.M. Best Company, based on the disclosures on the Dubai and the Abu Dhabi markets.

Around 86.6% of the Emirati insurance companies registered profits, while 13 insurers reported growth in written premiums, the report found.

Written premiums of 13 UAE-based insurance firms reached AED 21.80 billion in the last four quarters, the US-based rating agency revealed.

Moreover, officials in some national insurers expected a 10%-20% growth in the sector.

The UAE-Listed insurance companies reported increases in their aggregate profits in the previous year, as per Moody’s.
