16 int’l consortiums to race for railway projects in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: The supreme committee of Egypt’s housing and transport ministries announced the list of eligible consortiums and global firms to present their technical and financial offers for implementing a slew of railway projects in the North African nation. 

These projects comprised Ain Sokhna-New Alamain electric train, New Administrative Capital-Nasr city monorail, and 6th of October-Giza train tenders.

The committee has chosen 10 competent consortiums to execute the electric train, while six alliances have been selected to carry out the monorail project, according to the housing ministry's statement.

The list of consortiums capable of the construction of Ain Sokhna-New Alamain electric train includes a Japanese-Italian consortium comprised of Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane, Ansaldo (STS), Hitachi, and Saipem.

The list also included a French consortium of Vinci, Colas Rail, Alstom, Bouygues Travaux, and SNCF for operation. It also includes a Chinese-Egyptian alliance of Power China and Elsewedy Electric and a Spanish consortium of Imathia, Taglo, Indra, and Inabensa.

The contenders also included a Chinese-Egyptian-German consortium of AVIC, China Railway Group Ltd (CREC), China State Construction Engineering Corp (CSCEC), SIEMENS & Deutsche Bahn Group (DB), Orascom, and Arab Contractors.

The contenders also included a Chinese-Egyptian of China Gezhouba Group, CRCC, SAMCO, and Concord, and a South Korean consortium of Hyundai and Rotem, in addition to Chinese consortium of China Civil Engineering Construction (CCEC), China Railway 14th Bureau Group, China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group.

The list also comprised a French-Egyptian consortium of Eiffage, Hassan Allam Sons, Consolidated Contractors Company CCC. It also included a Chinese consortium of NORINCO, China Real Estate Information Corporation (CRIC), and China Railway Design Corporation (CRDC).

Meanwhile, the committee also revealed the list of consortiums capable of setting up New Administrative Capital-Nasr city monorail and 6th of October-Giza train, including an Italian-Japanese consortium comprised of Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane, Ansaldo (STS), Hitachi, and Saipem.

The second project's list also included a Canadian-Egyptian consortium of Bombardier, Orascom, and Aoie, in addition to an Egyptian –Spanish alliance of SEMAF, SNC Lavalin Atkins, SEMAF, and AOIE.

The list also included a Chinese-Egyptian consortium of China Gezhouba Group Corp Ltd, China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd, CRRC for Rolling stocks, Concord, and SAMCO.

It also included an Egyptian-Emirati consortium of SCOMI, Arabtec, the Ministry of Military Production, Military Production Company for projects, and engineering consultation Shaker Consultancy Group, and other consultants.

In addition, the list comprised a Chinese consortium of Chongqing International Construction Corp and China Railway 11th Bureau Group Corp.
