Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Investment Minister Ashraf Salman said Sunday that a total of 269 new companies were established during the period 15-19 November, at a daily average of 54 companies, according to data issued by General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
Speaking to reporters, the minister added that issued capital of those companies totalled EGP 224 million; EGP 181.4 million owned by nationals (or 80.9% of total capital), EGP 22.3 million owned by Arabs (9.9%) and EGP 20.4 million owned by foreigners (9.2%).
Meanwhile, issued capital of companies established a week earlier reached EGP 540 million.
Established companies are expected to provide 2,447 job opportunities.
The services sector dominated the biggest share in established companies with around 104, followed by multi activity ones (91), industrial (40), constructions (18), telecoms and IT (11), agriculture (4) and tourism (1).
