3 sectors boost ADX higher at Monday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Monday’s session at a marginal rise on the back of the energy, telecommunications, and real estate sectors.

The general index edged up 0.03% or 1.5 points to close at 4,616.96 points. Turnover grew to AED 72.08 million on Monday from AED 59.6 million on Sunday, while traded volume increased to 35.98 million shares versus 20.7 million.

The energy sector gained 1.32% backed by TAQA’s 4.35% jump, while the real estate sector increased 0.70% after Eshraq Properties went up 3.17%.

The telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat added 0.30% each, while the services sector rose 1.63% after Abu Dhabi National Hotels grew 4%.

On the other hand, the banks sector shed 0.25% after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) lost 0.41%, while the investment sector declined 2.04% after Waha Capital dropped 2.22%.

Dana Gas was the most active on the ADX today, with a turnover of AED 16.43 million and a volume of 16.09 million shares.
