3 sectors push ADX higher at Tuesday’s close

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index gained 14.32 points or 0.29% to close at 4,993.90, pushed up by the telecommunication, banks, and energy sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume more than halved to 101.595 million shares on Tuesday from 218.69 million on Monday, while the market’s turnover closed shop at AED 235.192 million, down from AED 336.87 million.

The energy sector rose 1.59% after Dana gas increased 2.56%

Boosted by a 0.48% increase in Etisalat’s stock, the telecommunication sector posted gains in today’s board.

The banks sector rose 0.39% after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) advanced by 0.41%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector was the market’s worst-performer after Aldar Properties and the National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK Bank) fell 2.78% and 1.14%, respectively. Meanwhile, Eshraq’s Properties increased 0.17%.

Wahat Al Zaweya Holding was the most active stock on the ADX, logging 30.89 million shares generating AED 63.32 million.
