3 sectors push up DFM Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) finished Monday with a positive performance after rising 5.14 points, or 0.18%, to 2,783.90 points, boosted by the transportation, telecommunication, and banks sectors.

The DFM’s traded volume hit 146.303 million shares, up from 64.160 million in the previous session, while liquidity rose to AED 193.236 million, against AED 79.285 million.

Air Arabia’s stock, which rose 2.94%, topped the market in terms of trading volume after 36 million shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of AED 37.72 million.

The insurance sector decreased 4.07% after Islamic Arab Insurance Co’s (Salama) stock dipped 7.87%, while the real estate sector inched down 0.03% as Union Properties and Emaar Properties stocks’ went down 3.23%, and 0.61%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector gained 1.76% after Air Arabia’s stock grew, while the telecommunication sector and its only stock Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du) increased 1%, each.

The banks sector inched up 0.51% as Dubai Islamic Bank’s (DIB) stock rose 1.13%.

Dar Al Takaful’s stock levelled up 4.31%.
