Cairo – Mubasher: The number of ships passing through the Suez Canal on Sunday, 27 May recorded 59 with a total cargo of 4 million tonnes.
Twenty-five vessels carrying around with 2 million tonnes crossed the northbound convoy, according to the Egyptian body navigation statistics.
Milan Maersk container was the largest of the ships crossing the northbound convoy with 221,000 tonnes, Egypt's state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
The south convoy included 34 ships with two million tonnes cargoes, of which the largest was the Liberian container ship "Reef" with 198,000 tonnes cargoes.
