Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Housing has given licences to 60 companies allowing them to sell land plots and housing units through the Saudi Wafi programme online, Saudi Gazette reported.
Launched by the Ministry of Housing, the Wafi programme works on granting off-plan sales and leasing, organising relations between real estate developers and specialists in the sector, registering title deeds, filing complaints, and following-up on services.
The Ministry of Housing is looking to provide 480,000 housing units by 2020, of which a large portion will be provided through the Wafi programme.
“The Wafi committee consists of representatives of the ministries of housing, municipal and rural affairs, commerce and investment, and justice, as well as the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) and the private sector,” according to Saudi Gazette.
