88% of King Abdulaziz International Airport completed – Agency

Riyadh – Mubasher: Around 88% of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport project has been completed, director general for planning and studies at the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) said.

Ibrahim bin Akram Mandoura added to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the test run for all the airport’s facilities will commence by the beginning of next year.

The airport is planned to have a capacity of 30 million passengers annually in its first phase and 55 million in the second phase, reaching 100 million passengers by the third phase, the agency reported.

Mandoura noted that the number of companies working on implementing this project amounts to 110 firms, including 21,000 workers and engineers.
