ABK’s operating profits surpass KWD 100m since inception – Official

Mubasher: Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) has been completing its vision of an ongoing growth despite the challenging economic conditions worldwide, the chairman of ABK Talal Behbehani said, according to a recent statement.

The bank’s operating income has exceeded KWD 100 million for the first time since ABK was established, due to the strong and profitable performance in all sectors of the bank, the chairman said.

ABK was the first bank to open in the UAE 40 years ago, providing its clients in Kuwait and the UAE with various services, Behbehani added.

The bank’s business has been expanding in the banking services sector for both individuals and entities by covering a wide geographical spot, namely in Egypt, the CEO of ABK Michel Accad clarified.

In fiscal year 2018, ABK has achieved a growth of 18.1% in profits to KWD 42.12 million compared to KWD 35.66 million in FY17.

The board members have recommended a 14% of capital as cash dividends or 14 fils per share at a total of KWD 22.49 million to the entitled shareholders.
