Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADDH) and FTI Group, Europe’s top tour operator, have announced their intent to collaborate and attract more European visitors to Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global tourism destination.
The collaboration will bolster the number of visitors arriving from key European markets, including the UK, France, and Germany, said a press release on Tuesday.
ADDH will invest EUR 100 million (AED 400 million) in FTI Group, contributing to the latter’s efforts in strengthening its global footprint and enhancing its vertical comprehensive strategy in various tourism divisions, including tour operation, destination management, and content development and distribution.
Commenting on this, the CEO of ADDH, Mohamed Al Suwaidi, remarked: “The collaboration will not only create many opportunities to enhance Abu Dhabi’s sustainable tourism sector, but it aligns with our mandate to further develop sectors of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil economy.”
Moreover, the CEO of FTI Group, Dietmar Gunz, revealed, “ADDH is an exciting partner for FTI group given its portfolio of hotels and presence in the exhibition, aviation, culture and media sectors, which will enable us to design a new class of exclusive holiday packages for the ultimate customer experience.”
Additionally, the CEO of Meeting International Group, Roula Jouny, noted that the company will launch its “first fully serviced offices” in Abu Dhabi during the coming months.
It is noteworthy that during the first nine months of 2019, Abu Dhabi welcomed around 3.8 million hotel guests, 2.9% up from the same period in 2018, according to recent data from the Department of Culture and Tourism.
Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi was selected as one of the top cultural cities in the world, according to Skyscanner.
