ADFD allocates $50m to projects in Chad

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) announced on Thursday that it has allocated $50 million to support Emirati national companies wishing to invest in Chad’s various economic sectors.

 “The Fund is proud of the UAE’s $150 million contribution to support Chad’s National Development Plan 2017-2021,” Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, director general of ADFD, said, according to a statement.

“The allocation of $50 million to UAE companies wishing to invest in Chad demonstrates our commitment to encouraging the private sector to explore the wealth of opportunities in Central Africa, and specifically Chad,” he added at the UAE-Chad Investment Forum.

The fund director general noted that ADFD currently operates in more than 80 countries worldwide, including 35 African nations.

The ADFD’s total expenditure in Africa amounts to AED 20 billion.
