Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is not currently considering any acquisitions abroad, but instead focusing on the infrastructure development in Abu Dhabi.
In May 2008, the company acquired ExCeL London for $626.4 million, in line with Abu Dhabi’s efforts to diversify economy.
“We launched the second phase of expansion and development of Al Ain Convention Centre last year,” ADNEC CEO Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri said on the sidelines of a press conference.
The new phase of expansion included the construction and development of new conference facilities, increasing the complex area to a total of 14,000 square meters in total, Al Dhaheri added.
The company is in process to start the infrastructure development of Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with its volume of investments to be announced in a timely manner.
ADNEC’s key venues welcomed more than 1.516 million visitors across 480 local and international events in 2016, contributing AED 3 billion in Abu Dhabi’s economy.
