Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced that it has awarded an AED 45.5 million ($12.4 million) contract to Interserve’s UAE subsidiary Adyard Group.
Under the contract, Adyard will replace offshore firewater pumps and liquid sulphur loading systems at Adnoc's sprawling Al Ruwais refining and petrochemical complex in Abu Dhabi.
The group will also fabricate additional pipe racks and skids at its industrial yard for the ADNOC deal.
Moreover, it will install flowline replacements made with corrosion-resistant alloy, according to Construction Week Online.
In February, ADNOC appointed UK-headquartered Wood Group in order to design its oil refinery in Al Ruwais. The complex is set to produce 600,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil.
It is connected to a 1,900-kilometre pipeline network that supplies refined oil to ports across the emirate for global export.
Earlier, ADNOC said it would invest up to AED 165 billion in its “downstream” operations by developing the world’s largest integrated refining and petrochemicals complex in Ruwais, which is already home to the world’s fourth-largest in terms of capacity, at 922,000 bpd.
