Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on Sunday announced that it has opened its state-of-the-art Taweelah Gas Compression Plant.
Located at the north of the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom, the new plant will ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to major Abu Dhabi industries and the UAE as a whole, according to ADNOC’s statement.
It will use around 450 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of sales gas.
The Taweelah Gas Compression Plant comprises three compression trains, each with a processing capacity of 225 mmscfd.
The gas will be delivered to the facility by ADNOC Gas Processing’s recently installed Maqta-Taweelah pipeline.
“The Taweelah Gas Compression Plant supports the nation’s increasing demand for energy and will play a critical role in the UAE’s drive towards economic diversification by supporting major industrial users. It effectively expands the national gas infrastructure for the efficient delivery of gas within the country,” Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO, said.
Opening the new plant will allow the state-run company to improve services for its customers across the UAE and to implement one of our key strategic imperatives.
“Completed in record time, ADNOC’s Taweelah Gas Compression Plant is a global benchmark and a great example of how excellent teams, working closely with our strong partners, enable us to deliver on big promises,” Al Jaber added.
The company did not give further details about the plant’s total cost.
