Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Al Yasat Company for Petroleum Operations, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the development of Bu Haseer offshore field to Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).
Under the agreement, NPCC will conduct EPC activities for the field’s offshore facilities, which will increase its production capacity to 16,000 barrels per day (bpd) from 8,000 bpd, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).
NPCC contract will feed back into the local economy as part of ADNOC’s In-Country Value programme.
"The award of the EPC contract, to further develop Bu Haseer, one of our most recent upstream developments, illustrates our commitment to growing production capacity and is part of our 2030 smart growth strategy,” upstream director at ADNOC Abdulmunim Al Kindy commented.
The programme is aimed at stimulating private sector partnerships and opportunities resulting from its 2030 growth strategy, WAM reported.
"In little more than four years, along with our partners CNPC, we have moved from development planning to production from the Bu Haseer field,” acting CEO of Al Yasat Tayba Al Hashemi said.
The deal’s value was not released.
