Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE minister of state and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), held several meetings with Chinese oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical industry leaders in China.
His visit focused on expanding and increasing investments and partnership opportunities across ADNOC’s integrated upstream and downstream value chain.
“Energy cooperation is an important aspect of the UAE’s relations with China, which is the number one oil importer globally and a major growth market for ADNOC’s crude, refined products, and petrochemicals,” Al Jaber said.
The minister further added that ADNOC was ready to work with its existing and new partners in order to meet China’s growing demand for energy and petrochemical products, a statement by the company showed.
During the meetings, Al Jaber affirmed that the group had plans for new upstream oil and gas resources and for expanding ADNOC’s downstream operations.
ADNOC’s output for downstream operations is expected to reach 14.4 million tonnes per year by 2025, data showed.
The company's planned projects include a world-scale, mixed liquid feedstock Naphtha cracker, in addition to investments in new refinery capacity. As a result, the group will create one of the world’s largest integrated refining and petrochemical complexes at Ruwais, located in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region.
