ADX brings early gains helped by Dana Gas

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi securities Exchange’s (ADX) main index opened the week in green, as it rose by 0.14% or 6 points to the level of 4,225.8 points, thanks to the increase in energy and banking sectors.

Analysts suggested, in statements to Mubasher, that United Arab Emirates stock markets are suffering from lack of catalysts in the current period, which gave speculators the chance to take control of the bourses, something that reflected negatively on liquidity.

Early trading volume came to 39.7 million shares worth AED 23.3 million through 338 trades.

The energy sector led the gainers with a 9.5% increase, by virtue of a 12.2% rise in Dana Gas.

Also, the banking sector made a 0.20% increase, as First Gulf Bank leapt by 0.41%. Meanwhile, the real estate sector dropped by 0.93%, as Al Dar and Eshraq properties declined by 1.26% and 2%, respectively.

ADX came to a negative close on Thursday, driven by the fall in leading sectors, topped by real estate and energy.
