ADX closes 0.87% higher Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Monday, backed by the rise of blue chips.

The general index rose 0.87% or 38.37 points to reach 4,457.75 points.

Trading volume reached 55.26 million shares on Monday, compared to 63.41 million shares on Sunday. Turnover amounted to AED 136.78 million, compared to AED 99.08 million.

The real estate sector rose 2.24% as Aldar Properties and RAK Properties added 3% and 1.39%.

The energy sector grew 1.33% after Dana levelled up 2.33%. The telecom sector also increased 1.13% as Etisalat climbed 1.13%.

The banks sector advanced 0.51% due to a rise in First Gulf Bank (FGB) and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) by 1.6% and 0.49%, respectively.

FGB was the value leader after generating AED 30.9 million from the exchange of 2.44 million shares, while Manazel Real Estate was the most active stock with a trading volume of 11.9 million shares worth AED 6.57 million.
