ADX closes 1.66% lower Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday, in line with the decline of telecom and banks sectors.

The general index declined 1.66% or 71.07 points to reach 4,221.01 points.

Turnover reached AED 423.794 million on Thursday, compared to AED 198.963 million on Wednesday. Trading volume stood at 373.242 million shares, compared to 150.249 million shares.

The telecom sector fell 2.23% as Etisalat decreased 2.23%.

The banks sector retreated 2.21% as First Gulf Bank (FGB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) levelled down 2.9%, 1.02% and 0.83% respectively.

On the flipside, the real estate rose 0.94% as Eshraq Properties increased 9.62%. The developer’s stock was the value leader after generating AED 315.17 million.

The energy sector increased 0.4% after TAQA grew 2%.
