ADX closes Monday in green

Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) returned to gains on Monday, on the back of the rising banks' sector.

The Abu Dhabi General Index (ADI) added 0.76% or 39.26 points and closed at 5,213.25 points.

Traded volumes amounted to 23.55 million shares, exchanged through 1,137 transactions at a total turnover of AED 112.18 million.

Market capitalization increased by more than AED 4 billion, as it ended today’s trading session at AED 536.45 billion, compared with AED 532.41 billion on Sunday.

As for the market sectors’ performance, banks increased by 0.8%, while telecom went up by 0.48%, and energy and real estate leveraged by 0.39% and 0.11%, respectively.

Abu Dhabi Aviation was today’s top rising stock as it surged by 11.07%, while Invest Bank led the decliners and dropped 9.9%.

Meanwhile, Aldar was the most actively traded stock with 3.53 million shares.

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) registered the highest turnover with AED 36.67 million and rose by 1.16%.

Similarly, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and Etisalat gained 2.16% and 0.48%, in that order, while Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) fell by 0.74%.
