Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) rose 20.31 points, or 0.40%, to close at 5,052.49 points on Sunday, encouraged by the energy and telecommunications sectors.
The ADX’s turnover amounted to AED 91.57 million on Sunday with the trading volume reaching 48.06 million shares exchanged through 843 transactions.
The energy sector grew 2.92% after Abu Dhabi National Energy (Taqa) and Adnoc Distribution advanced 2.13% and 8%, respectively.
Similarly, the telecommunications sector and its only stock Etisalat added 1.47% each.
The banks sector inched up 0.16% as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) grew 0.26%.
On the other hand, the real estate sector retreated 2.23% after Aldar Properties fell 2.79%.
The ADX’s market capitalisation gained AED 4.56 billion to AED 510.115 billion on Sunday from AED 505.554 billion on Thursday.
