ADX closes Sunday in red

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday, weighed down by the fall of the real estate and banks sectors.

The general index fell 0.13% or 5.55 points to reach 4,419.38 points.

Trading volume reached 63.41 million shares on Sunday, compared to 76.039 million shares on Thursday. Turnover amounted to AED 99.08 million, compared to AED 210.5 million.

The real estate sector led losers with a 1.1% decline as Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties slid 1.27% and 0.85%, respectively.

The banks sector levelled down 0.04% as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) tumbled 0.76% and 0.4%, respectively.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose 0.42% as Takaful Al Emarat Insurance Co added 12.36%.
