ADX closes Sunday up; market cap rises AED 13.55bn

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) inched up by 0.57% or 24.23 points to end Sunday's trading session at 4,285.30 points, unlike its downward performance on Thursday, 23 July.

Turnover totalled AED 81.72 million following the exchange of 54.70 million shares through 1,217 transactions.

The market cap value jumped by AED 13.55 billion to AED 617.33 billion, compared to AED 603.78 billion during the previous session.

The energy sector topped the winners with 2.61%, while the telecommunications segment headed the losers with 0.35%.

Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) came on top of the green zone with 9.43%, while Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) led the red zone with 5%.

TAQA was the most active stock with 17.56 million shares traded at AED 19.96 million.

Aldar Properties headed the rising blue chips with 2.38%, while Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) led the losing blue chips with 0.35%.
