ADX closes Thursday higher on blue chips

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Thursday’s session in the green, in line with the growth of real estate and banks stocks.

The main index advanced 1% or 44.77 points to reach 4,515.17 points.

The market saw trading of 71.46 million shares, with a turnover of AED 145.402 million.

The real estate sector topped gainers with a 2.75% rise, backed by Aldar Properties which added 3.03%.

The banks sector climbed 1.22% due to a rise in Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Union National Bank (UNB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) by 3.32%, 2.72% and 1.64% respectively.

ADCB was the value leader after generating AED 33.10 million, while Eshraq was the most active stock with a trading volume of 14 million shares.

The telecom sector went up 0.76% as Etisalat grew 0.76%. The energy sector also advanced 0.10% due to the growth of TAQA by 8%.
