ADX closes lower Wednesday

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Wednesday’s trading session in the red, in line with the fall of the telecom, real estate and energy sectors.

The main index retreated 0.18% or 8.21 points to reach 4,507.20 points.

Trading volume reached 76.80 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 42.14 million shares on Tuesday. Turnover stood at AED 146.470 million, compared to AED 82.74 million.

The telecom sector fell 0.76% as Etisalat went down 0.76%. The real estate sector also slid 0.67% after Aldar Properties decreased 1.08%, shrugging off the rise of RAK Properties and Eshraq Properties by 1.67% and 1.25% respectively.

The energy sector decreased 0.37% as TAQA levelled down 1.92%.

On the flipside, the banks sector rose 0.19% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) went up 0.83%.

Aldar was the value leader after generating AED 48.40 million generated from the exchange of 17.58 million shares.
