Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance for the fifth successive session on Wednesday, weighed down by the fall of blue chips topped by the energy and real estate sectors.
The general index declined 0.17% or 7.93 points to reach 4,555.06 points.
Turnover amounted to AED 212.04 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 191.52 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 107.351 million shares, compared to 140.92 million shares.
The energy sector retreated 1.32% after TAQA decreased 5.17%.
The real estate sector levelled down 0.58% as Eshraq Properties and Manazel Real Estate fell 3.31% and 1.79%, respectively. The telecom sector tumbled 0.27% due to a decline in Etisalat by 0.27%.
The banks sector slid 0.15% after National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) tumbled 0.92%.
On the other hand, the industrial sector topped gainers with a 1.88% rise as RAK Ceramics went up 4.67%.
Eshraq Properties was the value leader and most active stock after generating AED 72.75 million from the exchange of 60.66 million shares.
