ADX continues losses for 2nd session on blue-chips

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed at a decline for the second session in a row due to the negative performance of blue-chips, especially in the banks and energy sectors.

Trading volume reached 143.55 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 407.15 million shares on Tuesday. Turnover stood at AED 191.22 million, compared to AED 331.63 million.

The energy sector declined 1.81%, weighed by Dana Gas which fell 2.27%.

The banks sector decreased 1.19% as First Gulf Bank and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank retreated 1.74% and 1.11%, respectively.

The telecom sector slid 0.62% after Etisalat levelled down 0.62%.

The real estate sector inched down 0.11% if Eshraq Properties retreated 5%. Meanwhile, Aldar Properties trimmed the sector’s losses after gaining 0.44%.

Eshraq Properties topped gainers after generating AED 42.64 million, with trading volume reaching 72.47 million shares.
