ADX declines 2.12% in week

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) suffered losses in the week ended 2 February 2017.

The main index fell 2.12% or 97.91 points to reach 4,526.26 points. 

Trading volume reached 731.17 million shares this week, compared to 2.06 billion shares last week. Turnover stood at AED 1.31 billion, compared to AED 2.64 billion. 

The energy sector retreated 3.63% as Dana Gas and TAQA declined 3.85% and 3.6% respectively. 

The real estate sector fell 2.86% after Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties decreased 4.9% and 2.63% respectively. 

The banks sector went down 2.2% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) tumbled 4.5% 

The UAE markets are expected to see a positive performance next week, amid positive expectations for the remaining annual financials and dividends, Jamal Ajaj, director of Al Sharhan Shares Centre in Abu Dhabi, told Mubasher.
