Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) retreated early Tuesday, weighed by most of its leading stocks.
The general index fell 1.09% or 48.6 points to 4,427.90 points by 11am UAE time. Turnover reached AED 39.9 million after 29.22 million shares were traded through 426 transactions.
The real estate sector lost 1.5% after Aldar and Eshraq dropped 1.4% each, while the energy sector was down 1.47% as Dana Gas dropped 1.9%, while the banking sector shed 1.2% on First Gulf Bank (FGB) which declined 0.8%.
The ADX’s decline in Tuesday’s early trades is attributed to Etisalat falling below the important support level of AED 19, analyst Nawwaf Al Ajami told Mubasher, noting the telecom operator’s weight in the general index.
