ADX down 5% by end of February

Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended February’s trading on a negative note, as the main index lost 4.9% or 252.5 points to close at 4,901.42 points.

The general index decline came due to the losses of the markets sectors, as banks fell by 6.43%, followed by real estate with 4.22%, telecom with 3.19%, and energy with 0.16%.

Market capitalization decreased by AED 22 billion to AED 514.61 billion, compared with AED 537.09 billion by the end of January.

FAB led the declining stocks during February, as it dropped by 8.89%, while Aldar and ADIB lost 4.91% and 4.83%.

ADCB and ADNOC Distribution declined by 4.79% and 4.15%, respectively, while Dana Gas and Etisalat plunged by 3.63% and 2.59%, in that order.

On the other hand, TAQA recorded the highest gains and soared by 42.56%.
