ADX down for 3rd session Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday for the third session in row, backed by the fall of blue chips led especially in the real estate and telecom.

The main index reached 4,235.68 points after fall 1.09% or 46.78 points, its highest losses in 19 sessions.

The real estate sector fell 2.81% as Aldar Properties slid 4.23% to AED 2.54, its lowest level in nine months.

Trading volume reached 326.85 million shares on Sunday, compared to 424.93 million shares last Thursday. Turnover stood at AED 373.09 million, compared to AED 520.553 million.

Eshraq Properties’ stock generated AED 240.61 million, accounting for 75% of the market’s liquidity.

The telecom sector fell 1.39% as Etisalat decreased 1.39%.

The energy sector slid 1.07% after Dana Gas tumbled 1.89%. However, TAQA rose 1.75%.

The banks sector retreated 0.87% as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) levelled down 1.45% and 0.84% respectively.

On the flipside, the consume staples sector rose 2.52% as Agthia Group increased 4%.
