ADX down on Sunday; market cap declines to AED 533.54bn

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) decreased by 0.78% or 40.26 points to 5,115.92 points by the end of Sunday’s trading session, similar to its downward performance on Thursday, 30 January.

A total of 43.17 million shares were exchanged through 488 transactions at a value of AED 74.22 million.

The market cap value decreased by around AED 3.55 billion to AED 533.54 billion from AED 537.09 billion during the previous session.

At the same time, the banks, telecommunications, and real estate sectors fell by 0.94%, 0.74%, and 1.53%, respectively, while the energy segment increased by 0.40%.

Arkan Building Materials Company topped the decliners with 7.81%, while National Bank of Umm Al Qaiwain (NBQ) led the gainers with 2.63%.

Meanwhile, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), down 1.03%, achieved the highest turnover of AED 11.64 million, while Dana Gas, up 0.89%, posted the highest trading volume of 1.93 million traded shares.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Aldar Properties, Emirates Telecommunication Group (Etisalat), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for Distribution (ADNOC Distribution) were the losing blue chips with 1.44%, 1.35%, 0.74%, 0.70%, and 0.64%, respectively.
