ADX edges lower at Thursday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The general index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Thursday’s session in the red territory, as it was down by 0.05% or 2.45 points to close at 5,092.41 points.

The market saw a turnover of AED 492.62 million after 85.90 million shares were traded through 2,486 transactions.

Meanwhile, the market cap value decreased by about AED 39,000, standing at AED 523.06 billion from AED 523.45 billion in the previous session.

The telecom segment sank by 1.80%, whereas the banks segment added 0.61%.

Methaq Takaful Insurance Company led the fallers with 2.44%, whereas Union Insurance Co was the top winner with 9.07%.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), up 2.93%, recorded the highest turnover of AED 183.07 million, while Aldar Properties, down 1.38%, led the trading activity with 29.12 million shares.
