Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) finished Wednesday, the first trading session in 2019, with a negative performance after dropping 48.43 points, or 0.99%, to 4,866.64 points.
The ADX’s traded volume stood at 32.57 million shares, down from 78.24 million in the previous session, while liquidity slumped to AED 73.89 million, from AED 146.352 million.
The energy sector went down 2.08% as Dana Gas’ stock fell 4.17%, while the banks sector lost 1.10% after First Abu Dhabi Bank’s (FAB) stock declined 1.42%.
The real estate sector decreased 1.07% as Aldar Properties’ stock levelled down 1.25%.
The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, gained 0.12%, each.
Manazel Real Estate Company’s stock was the best performer after adding 2.37%, while the stock of Waha Capital was the worst performer after falling 10%.
Waha Capital’s stock topped the market in terms of both trading volume and value after 18 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of AED 41.34 million.
