Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Monday’s trading session, the last session in 2018, in the green, hitting the highest level in 19 sessions.
The general index rose 1.90% to close the session at 4,915.07 points.
Turnover amounted AED 146.35 million after 78.24 million shares were traded through 1,112 transactions.
The energy sector topped the gainers adding 8.89% as Dana Gas and Abu Dhabi National Energy (Taqa) jumped 12.54% and 10%, respectively.
Similarly, the real estate sector rose 3.72% as Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties levelled up 4.78% and 3.90%, respectively.
The telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), went up 0.59% each.
The insurance sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.14%.
By the end of the session, Wahat Al Zaweya’s stock led the ADX in terms of liquidity with AED 38.42 million, while Dana Gas’s stock spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 30.56 million shares.
