ADX ends March 1st session in red

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Sunday’s trading session in the red territory, pressured by the energy and banks sectors.

The general index fell 17.40 points, or 0.34%, to finish the first session of the week and March at 5,120.41 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 46.03 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 102.669 million through 1,011 transactions.

The energy sector retreated 1.86% after Dana Gas went down 2.90%, while the banks sector declined 0.41% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) tumbled 1.36%.

The services sector topped decliners after sliding 3.13%, as Abu Dhabi National Hotels plunged 6.83%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.43% after Aldar Properties levelled up 0.56%.

The telecommunications sector and its sole stock, Etisalat, which went up 0.36% each, topped the ADX in terms of liquidity with AED 24.28 million, while Dana Gas registered the highest trading volume of 16.65 million shares.
