ADX ends Monday in green

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: After two consecutive sessions of declines, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed on Monday in the green, pushed up by the banks and telecommunications sectors.

The general index gained 1.02% or 46.51 points, closing at 4614.16 points.

While traded value went up to 117.29 million ($31.94 million) from AED 76.7 million ($20.89 million) on Sunday, traded volume levelled down to 53 million shares from 58.24 million shares traded on Sunday.

The banks sector was ahead with a 1.63% rise, on the back of First Gulf Bank (FGB), which grew 2.9%, and as the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) advanced 0.91% and 0.63% respectively.

Likewise, the telecommunication sector edged up 0.67% on the back of Etisalat which saw a similar gain.

On the other hand, the energy sector lost 1.39%, pushed down by Dana Gas which lost 1.72%.

The real estate sector also went down 0.07%, with Aldar slipping 0.35%, but losses were trimmed by the gains of RAK Properties and Eshraq by 1.69% and 1.35% respectively.
