ADX ends Sunday down on energy, telecom

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Sunday’s trading session 0.02% or 0.91 points lower at 4,500.86 points.

The market’s liquidity shrank to AED 206.68 million from AED 490.46 million on Thursday, while traded volume decreased to 209.34 million shares from 396.6 million. 

The energy segment retreated 3.7%, dragged by Dana Gas and Taqa which lost 4.11% and 1.85%, respectively.

The telecom sector shed 0.29% after Etisalat decreased by the same percentage.

On the other hand, the real estate segment rose 0.48%, as Eshraq and Aldar Properties levelled up 0.94% and 0.43%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the banks sector gained 0.19%, on the back of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) which went up 0.46% and 0.28%, respectively.

The investment sector led hikes and increased 1.62%.

Dana Gas was the most active stock on which 172.40 million shares were traded at a value of AED 120.24 million.
