ADX ends Sunday in red

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) finished Sunday on a negative note after the general index fell 16.87 points, or 0.34%, to 4,990.25 points.

The ADX’s traded volume stood at 16.47 million shares, down from 114.640 million shares on Thursday, whereas liquidity increased to AED 43.012 million ($11.71 million), from AED 37.70 million ($10.27 million).

The energy sector decreased 1.27% as Dana Gas’ stock declined 1.71%, while the banks sector lost  0.26% after First Abu Dhabi Bank’s (FAB) stock shed 0.27%.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) levelled down 0.24% each.

On the other hand, the real estate sector inched up 0.09% as RAK Properties' stock rose 1.65%.

Emirates Driving Institute’s stock was the worst performer, sliding 10%, whereas Reem Investments' stock was the best performer after jumping 14.98%.

FAB’s stock led in terms of trading value, generating AED 9.6 million, while Dana Gas’ stock topped in terms of traded volume after 3.85 million shares were exchanged.
