ADX ends Tuesday up on banks, telecoms

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday’s session at a rise backed by the banks and telecommunications sectors.

The general index increased 0.48% or 20.39 points to close at 4,295.12 points.

The banks sector added 0.62% after three of its stocks ended on a high note, led by Union National Bank (UNB) with 2.56%, followed by First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) with 0.99% and 0.27%, respectively.

The telecommunications sector and its only stock Etisalat gained 0.31% each.

On the flipside, the real estate sector shed 0.37% after Manazel Real Estate and Aldar Properties lost 3.64% and 0.45%, respectively.

Turnover fell to AED 86.9 million on Tuesday from AED 141.06 million on Monday, while traded volume retreated to 39.98 million shares versus 64.21 million in the previous session.

Manazel’s stock was the most in terms of volume with 23.44 million shares traded, whereas FAB registered the highest turnover with AED 29.3 million exchanged through 141 transactions.
