Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory in line with the resumption of purchasing power on some blue-chip stocks.
The ADX’s general index gained 24.99 points, or 0.50%, to 4,990.86 points, shrugging off the recent declines.
The insurance sector led the gainers with 1.63% when Emirates Insurance jumped 10.71% to AED 7.75.
Likewise, the telecommunication sector increased by 1.12% as its sole stock Etisalat rose by the same percentage, while the real estate sector added 1.04% as Aldar gained 1.04%.
The banks sector edged up 0.38% backed by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) that added 1.5% to AED 4.6 and 0.81% to AED 14.9, respectively.
Meanwhile, the energy sector shed 0.57% dragged down by Dana Gas that fell 2.17%.
Trading volume amounted to 35.10 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 181.18 million through 1,585 transactions.
