ADX extends gains into 3rd session Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index registered its third successive growth on Tuesday, boosted by blue chips.

The general index rose 0.59% or 25.5 points to 4,381.8 points.

The ADX’s trading volume grew to 45.91 million shares from 32.75 million shares on Monday, while the market’s liquidity increased to AED 83.47 million through 855 transactions, compared to AED 59.29 million in the previous session.  

The telecommunication sector and its only stock Etisalat added 1.17% each.

The real estate sector gained 0.88% after Al Qudra Holding jumped 3.31%, while Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties levelled up 1.41% and 0.91%, respectively.

The banks sector increased by 0.44%, pushed up by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), which surged 3.51%, while Bank of Sharjah and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) levelled up 1.67% and 0.49%, respectively.

Dana Gas was the most actively-traded stock on the ADX in terms of volume, with 14.58 million traded shares, while Etisalat topped the market in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 18.93 million.
