Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) suffered losses on Wednesday, dragged down by the energy and banks sectors.
The general index fell 0.39% or 17.79 points to reach 4,524.15 points.
The energy sector declined 0.92% after Dana Gas levelled down 1.52%.
The banks sector slid 0.73% after Commercial Bank International (CBI), Bank of Sharjah, Union National Bank (UNB), Sharjah Islamic Bank, and First Abu Dhabi Bank retreated 8.18%, 3.33%, 2.41%, 2.21%, and 0.94%, respectively.
On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.26% as Eshraq Properties added 2.17%.
Turnover amounted to AED 159.75 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 87.25 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 75.87 million shares, compared to 40.88 million shares.
Dana Gas was the most active stock after trading 19.85 million shares, while First Abu Dhabi Bank was the value leader with a turnover of AED 41.26 million.
