ADX falls amid lower trades

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday, pressured down by the fall of blue chips amid a decline in trades.

The general index retreated 0.4% or 18.24 points to reach 4,575.34 points.

Trading volume reached 22.19 million shares on Sunday, compared to 50.67 million shares last Thursday. Turnover stood at AED 67.47 million, compared to AED 221.054 million.

The energy sector led losers after falling 2.96% as TAQA and Dana Gas retreated 7.69% and 1.79% respectively.

The real estate sector slid 1.23% as Eshraq and Aldar Properties went down 2.67% and 1.04% respectively.

The telecom sector tumbled 0.50% as Etisalat slipped 0.50%. The telecom operator was the value leader after generating AED 17 million.

Similarly, the banks sector lost 0.23% due to a decline in National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) by 1.95%, 0.52% and 0.41% respectively.
