ADX falls for 2nd session as banks, real estate weigh Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Wednesday lower, registering its second decline in a row.

The general index shed 0.4% or 19.89 points to close at 4,970.88 points. Turnover amounted to AED 168.152 million, generated through the exchange of 33.86 million shares via 1,904 transactions.

The banks sector lost 0.88% after Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) tumbled 1.47% and 1.20%, respectively.

The energy sector also fell 0.77% after Dana Gas declined 0.94% and ADNOC Distribution decreased 0.85%.

On the positive side, the real estate sector grew 0.44% after Aldar Properties gained 0.59%, while the telecom sector and its only stock Etisalat edged up 0.12% each.
