Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) retreated 0.59% or 26.98 points to reach 4,581.30 points by the week ended 18 May when compared to the previous week.
The market’s turnover shrank to AED 693.91 million this week from AED 1.16 billion in the past week, while 343.366 million shares were exchanged this week, compared to 389.318 million in the prior week.
The energy segment led decliners during this week with 5.92%, dragged by TAQA and Dana Gas which lost 9.52% and 4.55%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the services sector gained 3.65%, on the back of Gulf Medical Projects which surged 21.21%.
ADX’s market cap lost AED 2.6 billion ($707 million) to total AED 440.386 billion ($120 billion) this week from AED 443.070 billion ($120.6 billion) in the prior week.
